  • The fact that 5 year old Brz/Gt86 are worth almost the price of a new one doesn't make any sense. If the Supra came in manual I wouldn't even bother wanting one of these. I want power and Rwd in a manual transmission.

  • What lift kit is that? Skyjacker

  • No space for front plates?

  • Those better not be fake events bro.

  • love the looks and the manual trans, just needs a V6 and drop top option and its game over.

  • I love this

  • This 86 look beautiful but ion about the price of 30000 plus I think these cars base should 25000 while premium should be 27000 there’s just not enough the justify 30000 plus . Other sports cars offer more then just this for the same price they should rethink the price to under cut sports cars in the competition

  • Excellent price for a premium, too!

  • It’s look like a Jaguar or a Viper

  • Why no turbo 😞

  • Nissan Z proto all day.

  • Looks like toyota is taking note of the 400z front end

  • Love the design but the fact that it does not come with a turbo kills it for me. My elantra sport has more power than this. Lol.

  • We need manual transmission!

  • why in God's name do you have to FUCKING YELL?

  • I was excited until the hood was opened and it was the same Subaru boxer engine 😔

  • It still looks like the Toyobaru, FRS and BRZ.

  • I was wondering, does it have that issue like the GR Supra where getting in and out, you'd have to bend your head over a lot in order to get out if you're around 6'0?

  • If it's good enough for Ken, it's good enough for me, but damn those floating calipers look misplaced.

  • The rear fender add on piece is for a regulation so the the tire doesn't;t stick out more than the fender, Rait should know this.

  • Just call it a bmw

  • The MX5 is NOT THE DIRECT Competition for this kind of car ......point blank . It’s a different animal with a different target .Mazda has a Quality interior, and superior in being reliable ....... 86 is pure plastic 🌧 * Example how many Toyota Celica’s are on the street ? Ok , How many generations of Miatas are on the street ?

  • Looks great..... But still rather have a Miata

  • hoping to see this car in Forza Horizon 5

  • I don't like TOYOTA badge. It seems to me to spoil design of TOYOTA cars.

  • Yeah... I wouldnt pay more than $25k for that

  • That car is awesome.

  • The front gives me huge *Dodge Viper* vibes

  • Not sure how I feel about the digital display. Kind of like analog gauges.

  • Lot of plastic in the interior, but I love the design and layout. They better not have raised the price.

  • The base model does not need a turbo if they fixed the torque issue with the new motor. We want the base model to be affordable.

  • that rounded light and body will never get old like the S2K

  • I would really like if they gave up the boxer engines. They made 192 hp from a 1.8 (naturally aspirated) 4 cyl. engine in 2001. Why they can't do 250hp from a 2.4 litre engine. :( The weight gone up 300 kilogramms and the power went up 30 hp. That's not a good trade from 2001 at all.

  • NICE you got to meet the GUSH. Hes super cool

  • interior is a deal breaker for me lol, I'd rather be in an i30 😅😅😄

  • Ugly backside. There I said it.

  • It's torsen, not torsion.

  • When Toyota first introduced this car under their Scion brand back in 2013, the MSRP was $24k US. $31k is a bit steep.... I think $27 base would have been more reasonable. I wonder if they stuck with $31 due to supply chain issues increase in labor cost

  • It’s not an 86 unless it look like Takumi’s Haichi-Roku I love the look the new look ruined it.

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one!

  • The cost of this here in Canada land is dumb, better off getting an older turbo sports car.

  • Just gimme the base and I’ll buy the duckbill spoiler on the side 🤷🏽‍♂️

  • Toyota killing it this year with so many models.

  • This car is really growing on me 🔥

  • Wish they did a better speedo screen like vw/audi

  • The front looks like a mx-5

  • Price of a used S3 and the S3 would blow it out of the water in just about anything.

  • front looks like new Z

  • imagine they put the 2.0 L supra engine in to it and brz doing a real sti turbo option.

  • my miata stock tires are 205. upgraded rear to 225 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. more grip. handles fine on 17 in rims

  • wonder how this stacks up against the current brz, 86 and miata.

  • front: 2018 Jaguar F-Type. rear: Honda CR-Z

  • what's your workout routine and diet?

  • When it comes to designing tail lights , Toyota either hires crackheads or just cheaters. Their tail light designs are the worst. This car's taillights are a rip off of the New NSX. Car looks good from front & side. Just the rear of car is terrible not just this one, even the previous Model's as well. (My opinion)

  • corolla and civic had a sex. ok I get it

  • #savetheManuels

  • Looks like toyota finally made a car non-convertible version of the Honda S2000. Almost 2 decades later but they finally did it.

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one!

  • I don't know why I see a jaguar ftype

  • Sadly think it looks worse than the older version.

  • So many false statements. Here’s just a few, - The tyres are NOT Michelin PS4S, which start from a 19inch fitment, they are just PS4 - It’s not a ‘standard e brake’ because it is not electric. it’s a park brake Good video overall

  • am i the only one that loves everything about the design/looks *EXCEPT THE REAR END?* All I see is a Sedan rear end. a Chrysler 200 meets a Honda civic, but at least the Civic did the crab claws better

  • Front end gives me the Nissan Z Nismo vibes.

  • How are these typically viewed by insurance companies? I know that can really vary based on the driver, but some cars like the WRX are known for having higher premiums. Just curious if theres any common knowledge out there.

  • Would be worth the price if they would have just thrown a turbo in them; they are too slow!!!! And most people who buy new cars like to keep the warranty by not adding extra parts … so, yeah… make them more quick pleasE Toyota!!

  • Omg! 😳 it looks like my 2020 86 ……except better. LOL 😄😍😍😍 FINALLY a little pocket in the door for your phone, and an arm rest. 🙄

  • Great looking car. As a former owner of 2 Fiat X 1/9, and a Miata I like this a lot

  • Better price than the new Z

  • oh shit, from the side perspective it LOOOKS like a mini lexus RC

  • Can't wait to see weeb anime stickers on them at my local boba shop lol

  • This is beautiful, and manual!!

  • Personally, love the way all generations of this car look. Just never been much of a fan of its performance. Never understood why they didn’t make this a more agreeable parts bin car. This car should have seen an inline 4 implant or a V6 to keep the overall price down as much as possible.

  • Junk

  • im cool witha a new 86 but the looks from the back are like civic and it makes it looks cheap

  • I’d rather wait for the proto z at the price and what you get for the money.

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one!

  • It seems really nice but me personally I’d rather go for the fairlady z but this is really nice

  • As a previous FRS owner, at their prices point of 0ver $30k its not worth buying. They keep rebadging to find a market.

  • I drive past that place everyday to get to my job!!

  • The engine performance is kind of unacceptable at this point. Overall, it seems balanced well.

  • Does the LSD come on standard on both trim levels?

  • Did Joe say 31K?

  • Looks nice, but i think I'd rather go with Honda Type R 2022 model 😋, but ofc imma be looking at least 10k price difference. GR is looking nice very much like Supra infact maybe putting another 10K and you bring supra home or again another 10k and C8 💰💪

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one.

  • Love the design of the car. First thing I would do would be to get some Coilovers on there and lower it down a bit. Then some wider offset wheels and tires and it would be perfect.

  • Looks nice and all, but way underpowered. Why would I buy this over a Nissan Z with twice the power for almost the same price?

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one.

  • it looks like a Nissan 400 and new gen supra and the old gen 86 had a baby together

  • Why do people pretend to prefer the manual transmission and when given a manual transmission to drive can’t change gears seamlessly.

  • what will the starting price be for the base model? $29,000 is what ive been seeing

  • For 27k - 31k , I think you can pick up a challenger/charger RT with the 8 speed automatic for that price, 375 horsepower and 410 pounds of torque, 0-60 in 5.6 seconds and a quarter mile in 13.7, I think that may be better way to go then this car, but to each they own I guess , the deals are out there check out your local dealership

  • Very low horsepower, very disappointing and slow asf

    • Do not underestimate the weight and chassis of the car. Speed isn't the only factor. Edit: And to clarify on the weight, 1270 kg for the Japan-spec. Outside of it, expect the weight to be very close.

  • This new car is like a super model. Oh sure she looks good. But her performance where it matters is lacking. This looker is a dog. It will take another $10K to make any good on track.

  • Thanks Raiti, great job as always. This very well may be my next car. I was dead set on the Miata, but it's too impractical as your only car (even as a single dude with no kids), and I don't want to own two cars (just too excessive).

  • Great looking car , i know they want a well balance track friendly car but for 31k they should at least throw a turbo in there . It would give ppl more options if they want up the power . 228hp is not alot of power by todays standards even if its a light car . Wrx motor would've been a nice set up for this car in my opinion

  • Looks like a 400z

  • Brembo and wider rear rims would add to the price. Doubt they will be able to sell this fall for under $30k. New car prices are going to be much higher come fall. Probably will sell low to mid 30’s. All factory notes are putting the curb weight at 2840-2900 lbs for limited. My 2018 premium was 2789lbs. Now at 2598lbs. Still want to know if roof, fenders and doors are aluminum now? Heard they were.

  • All that show and it doesn't add up to the engine specs. Doesn't need wider tires doesn't need brembo brakes. It's a car to look sporty and upgrade it as you see fit. That's why toyota isnt investing tons of top end things. It's like a miata

  • Toyota should make a auto convertible version of this car.

  • Oh look, the Zupr4

  • this is 370z food 😋

  • I have a 14 fr-s got it brand new and its paid off but this new gr 86 is such a nice looking car that im selling my fr-s to get this beautiful car!

  • Every time this Mong touches the paint I physically recoil into the void

  • 👌👍👍

  • You couldn't invest in a drone video shot?
